RASHTRIYA KRISHI VIKAS YOJANA (RKVY)

Introduction:

Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) was introduced in the 11th Five-year Plan aiming at an annual growth rate of 4.1% in Agriculture by providing incentive to the State in the shape of grant-in-aid. As per RKVY Guidelines, the components for the RKVY cover the following activities:-
1. Integrated development of major food crops such as wheat, paddy, coarse cereals, minor millets, pulses, oilseeds
2. Agriculture mechanization
3. Activities related to enhancement of soil health
4. Development of rain fed farming systems in and outside watershed areas, as also Integrated development of watershed areas, wastelands, river valleys
5. Support to State seed farms
6. Integrated Pest Management schemes
7. Encouraging non-farm activities:
8. Strengthening of Market Infrastructure and marketing development
9. Strengthening of Infrastructure to promote Extension Services
10. Activities relating to enhancement of horticultural production and popularization of micro irrigation systems:
11. Animal husbandry and fisheries development activities
12. Special schemes for beneficiaries of land reforms
13. Undertaking concept to completion projects
14. Grant support to the State Government institutions that promote agriculture/horticulture
15. Study tours of farmers.
16. Organic and bio-fertilizers:
17. Innovative schemes not included under (1) to (16).

RKVY & Cooperation:
The Co-operative Sector in West Bengal was provided with “Additional Central Assistance [ACA]” for the R.K.
